Before I even knew what was wrong, my body was already telling me something was off.

Did you know…

  • Mental fatigue builds up faster from clutter than from actual work?
  • Just one late-night snack can delay your body’s melatonin by 90 minutes?
  • You take in more information in a single day than most people did in a full week just 20 years ago?

I didn’t either—until I started feeling totally disconnected from my own life.

It wasn’t some huge breakdown. It was little things like opening the fridge five times and still not knowing what to eat. Letting texts go unanswered because replying felt like too much work. Skipping the evening walk I used to love because I was mentally exhausted...

I wasn’t doing nothing—I was doing too much of everything that didn’t actually help. And by the end of the day, I didn’t even feel accomplished.

That’s when I knew something needed to change.

If you’ve been feeling overstimulated, scattered, or like your nervous system’s been running a marathon...

You’re not imagining it—and you’re definitely not alone.

We take in about 74 gigabytes of information every day—the equivalent of watching 16 full-length movies. That’s far more than our brains were ever meant to handle. Constant stimulation (scrolling, multitasking, clutter) keeps our brains in a heightened state of alert, making it harder to focus, sleep, or feel emotionally regulated. Our brains weren’t built for this much input.

And our bodies weren’t meant to live in a near-constant stress response. When your brain perceives overload—even from things like inboxes, decision fatigue, or background noise—it activates the sympathetic nervous system (aka "fight-or-flight"), flooding your body with the stress hormone cortisol and adrenaline. Over time, this contributes to fatigue, anxiety, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, inflammation, and burnout.

Most of the “fixes” out there ask more of you. More steps. More tracking. More “doing.”

But what we actually need is less. Less noise. Less pressure. And more space to feel, reset, and come back to ourselves.

No wonder you're exhausted—and craving something different.

That’s exactly why I created The Slow Life Reset.

I was overwhelmed. And everything I found to “help” just made it worse. I tried the checklists, the habit trackers, the optimized morning routines...

Instead of helping, they just made me feel like I was even more behind.

What I actually needed was relief...

  • from the constant noise.
  • from always feeling behind.
  • from survival mode.

I didn’t create The Slow Life Reset in a strategy session—I pieced it together in real life.

I spent ten years living in England, working for a French company, and traveling around Europe. And what stuck with me most wasn’t the places—it was the pace.

People lived slower. Softer. More intentionally.

Lunch breaks were actual breaks. Coffee was something you sat with, not something you grabbed between errands. Groceries were picked up fresh in small markets. Sundays were quiet—shops were closed, parks were full, dinner happened around a table without rushing.

At the time, I didn’t think of it as “slow living.” But something about that rhythm stayed with me.

When I eventually came back to the U.S., the contrast hit hard. The pressure. The pace. The constant push to do more, be more, achieve more.

For a while, I thought I was the problem. But eventually, I realized it wasn’t just me—it was the culture. The expectations. The glorification of burnout disguised as ambition.

So I started making small changes—simple things I had picked up abroad.

I stopped trying to optimize every second and started noticing what actually made me feel better. I wrote those things down. And eventually, I turned them into something I could share.

The Slow Life Reset is a 7-day guide to help you step out of burnout and back into your life.
